Brisket was pretty good. The Dizzy sauce was also good, but I think it would have been better on some wings than beef. Cornbread and sweet potatoe fries complemented the meal nicely. I also ordered a pastrami reuben that could only be better with a little more Russian dressing. Service was above average. Oh yea...portion size was impressive.
As a busy event planner it is often hard to let go of the reins but I have to say a special thank you to Justin for creating a stress free catered event that was perfect for our crowd.
The food was outstanding, hot and plentiful. The service from Justin and Annie was always attentive and Justin sure knows how to mix a cocktail.
We are already booking Dizzy Chicken for next year's event.
I work nights, walking past each morning I can already smell the the divinity that will be dinner or lunch.
I was finally off able to experience this! Our server was attentive, made great recommendations, and was very knowledgeable.
I don't like BBQ that's sauce heavy, (i.e. obscuring the true flavor of the meat). This was a perfect balance as far as a flavor profile: the BBQ sauce was not overbearing; you could appreciate both the meat and the sauce, as well as their harmony together.
As far as price, well it's Saratoga. I felt the portions on the main dishes were bountiful and have plenty of leftovers. I feel for culinary prowess and portions, it was fairly priced.
Ribs are obviously recommended. If you truly enjoy a good pork belly, this is in my top 3 (beating out some power chefs in NYC and LA!).
Hot sandwiches were great. Literally everything we had was tantalizing to the eyes as well as the palate.
Definitely worth the trip! 5 stars all around and my recommendations go with my singing praise for this gem!
Our first time was a great visit. It's usually busy, and we finally timed it right & got in. Service was fast and friendly, for was hot and delicious. The chicken was juicy and fell off the bone. The pulled pork melted in my mouth --- delicious.
I found this place from tweeting out to locals of Saratoga for places to eat. We had the chicken, it was fantastic. We had a new server, who was training , and he was great! (We’ve worked in hospitality so we know) The desserts were so delicious! They have dip sauces that were really good too. The coleslaw was the BEST I’ve ever had and my friends agree!!! The atmosphere was fun. A mix up on the bill was fixed immediately. We will be back!
Dizzy Chicken is the best barbecue restaurant in the Saratoga area - instead of going to the main strip on Broadway or the other pretentious restaurants, instead go to Dizzy as I have for the past few racing seasons
Ordered the Brisket entree with mac&cheese and cole slaw and the smoked meatloaf entree with sweat potato fries and greens. Both entrees melt in your mouth. Prices are around $20 per entree. There is also a full bar available
This place is a must visit for any family or barbecue lover
The ambiance was nice, but the food was not good. I ordered the meatloaf with roasted potatoes and greens and cornbread. The potatoes were fresh n
and delicious, but the greens were soggy and luke-warm. The meatloaf was not beef and pork like advertised. 😐 It was not delicious. And they gave me ice-cold cornbread wrapped in foil. I paid nearly $4 extra for it, and was really looking forward to it. I was very disappointed in the Quality of food and service. I walked in and stood in line quite awhile be I was acknowledged. Instead he took care of customers that came in after me, brought them menus and arranged their table. I had been standing there before they walked in and he didn't bother to apologize once he realized his mistake!
Happened on this place around lunch time and I am impressed. I got the half chicken with mac&cheese and rosted potatoes. Got that dizzy sauce, too. It was really good.
Definitely gonna hit this place up again.
